Job Description:

Stock Clerk

Fort Rucker, AL-NORTH (FRAL-NORTH) – Hazardous Waste (HAZWASTE)

The Stock Clerk receives, stores, and issues equipment, materials, supplies, merchandise, foodstuffs, or tools, and compiles stock records of items in stockroom, warehouse or storage yard. This worker sorts, or weighs incoming articles to verify receipt of items on requisition or invoice, examines stock to verify conformance to specifications, stores articles in bins, on floor or on shelves, according to identifying information, such as style, size or type of material, fills orders or issues supplies from stock, prepares periodic, special or perpetual inventory of stock, and requisitions articles to fill incoming orders. This worker also compiles reports on use of stock handling equipment, adjustments of inventory counts and stock records, spoilage of or damage to stock, location changes, and refusal of shipments, may mark identifying codes, figures, or letters on articles, may distribute stock among production workers, keeping records of material issued, may make adjustments or repairs to articles carried in stock, and may cut stock to site to fill order.

• Conduct weekly inspections to ensure proper segregation of incompatible materials

• Process products ordered through AIRBUS for LUH-72 aircraft, order and process local purchases to meet mission requirements

• Verifying materials (or merchandise) against receiving documents.

• Routing materials to prescribed storage locations

• Storing, stacking, or palletizing materials in accordance with prescribed storage methods

• Rearranging and taking inventory of stored materials

• Examining stored materials and reporting deterioration and damage

• Receiving, inspecting, storing, issuing, and managing hazardous and non-hazardous materials.

• Collecting data on hazardous and non-hazardous materials for entry into EESOH-MIS.

• Affixing EESOH-MIS bar code labels to products to facilitate in the tracking of hazardous and non-hazardous materials.

• Identifying and pulling hazardous materials for delivery to customers.

• Utilizing First In First Out (FIFO) method when issuing hazardous materials to ensure proper stock rotation.

• Providing customer service.

• Moving hazardous materials within the warehouse with various material handling equipment and electrical powered forklift.

• Performing daily duties in a safe manner by adhering to OSHA and company established safety requirements.

• Providing information or updates to co-workers of all issues that affect the operation of the HMCC.

• General housekeeping as required.

• Provide Safety Data Sheets (SDS)

• Load correct items onto delivery trucks

• Maintain inspection records

Requirements:

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

Minimum requirements :

• Must have 1 -2 years of experience in warehousing with 1-2 years of experience with Hazardous Materials and must be U.S. citizen and possess a high school diploma or equivalent

• Familiar with the chemistry of hazardous materials to prevent improper storage and exercise proper material segregation

• Must be trained and certified in accordance with requirements of 29 CFR Part 1910.120, 29 CFR Part 1915.1200, 40 CFR Part 265.16 and 49 CFR Part 172.704

• Practical knowledge of a wide range of established supply management and hazardous material policies and processes, and the ability to apply a variety of common methods and techniques to analyze the effectiveness and efficiency of these various supply programs

• Ability to identify needed remedies or improvements

• The employee chooses, interprets and adapts available guidelines (that often contain conflicting or ambiguous instructions) to specific assignments

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Ability to read, comprehend and explain instructions, letters, memos, emails, and correspondence from inside the organization as well as from external sources. Ability to effectively respond, communicate and present information to customers, internal and external, clients and other employees in the organization. Ability to interpret instructions and information and explain to others in the performance of this job.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

• Must be capable of lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling parts and loads weighting 50 pounds.

• Must be able to climb, crawl, stoop, bend, squat, and reach as required to retrieve material from storage and bin locations.

• Be able to work outside and/or a warehouse environment in inclement weather conditions (extreme cold and extreme hot), when necessary.

• Wears safety items of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) e.g. gloves, safety shoes, protective eyewear, hearing protection, and other items such as aprons or outerwear as appropriate.
