Leidos’ Defense Systems Mechanical Manufacturing Facility is seeking a Shop Floor Expeditor to join our team in Huntsville, AL. The ideal candidate will need to have a background in Material Handling and be able to operate a fork-lift in a safe manner.

Primary Responsibilities
Move raw materials from staging areas to CNC Machines on the Shop Floor.
Operate a fork lift and use safe lifting techniques.
Keep machines stocked with materials and stage jobs according to a Production Schedule.
Resolve problems related to production jobs such as configuration changes, engineering changes, material issues, schedule priority, etc.
Monitor production status of jobs to ensure they meet schedule requirements.
Collaborate with schedulers to correctly prioritize work in process and firm planned work.
Report job status to management.
Report job status using spreadsheets, custom reports, etc.
Collaborate with Quality Assurance, Purchasing, Manufacturing Engineering, and Inventory Control.
Expedite jobs as required.
Participate in status meetings weekly.
Participate in Lean Six Sigma Kaizen Events as needed.
Basic Qualifications
BA degree with 2-4 years of experience in Logistics, Material handling or Production environment or equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
Working knowledge of MS Office and ERP systems.
Ability to achieve a fork lift certification.
Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication abilities.
Ability to work overtime as required in a fast paced production environment.
Excellent attention to detail and willingness to be creative.
Must be a US Citizen and possess (and be able to maintain) a Final Secret Clearance OR meet the eligibility to obtain (and maintain) a Secret Clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
Fork lift or material handling experience with metals.
MS Excel experience (basic working knowledge).
