Sitting at a computer workstation for extended periods of time performing tasks such as data entry; repetitive motions; and occasionally standing or walking with objects up to 10 lbs.
Shift
Monday through Friday, 8:00am – 5:00pm. This position is 100% remote.
Job Summary
The Patient Access Representative is responsible for coordinating pre-appointment activities for UK HealthCare patients including appointment coordination and scheduling; resolution of patient complaints; collection and verification of demographic information and insurance/payer source information and correction of registration errors; and maintaining HIPAA compliance and complying with all UKHC polices regarding patient privacy and confidentiality. This position will also participate in unit and Enterprise activities to improve efficiency, quality, safety, and patient satisfaction.

This position is 100% remote.
Skills / Knowledge / Abilities
The ideal candidate will be customer service oriented; possess patient scheduling and health insurance knowledge; have the ability to multi-task with a strong emphasis on accuracy and attention to detail; be proficient in Microsoft Office, including Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, and Excel; have excellent communication skills (both written and verbal); possess solid time management, critical thinking, follow-through, planning, and organizational skills; and have a high level of respect for confidentiality.

Preferred Education/Experience
Associate’s degree and at least four years of healthcare customer service experience preferred; previous patient scheduling experience highly preferred.
