| Job Summary | The APP (Advanced Practice Provider) functioning within the Pediatric Pulmonary Medicine division is an integral multidisciplinary healthcare team member. The APP functions primarily in the clinic, managing the medical needs of the identified population, and may also work closely with the outpatient testing groups. The APP is generally on a service-aligned team and manages the outpatient care with the team. In some instances, the APP may have responsibilities for this same patient population in the consultative inpatient setting or serve as a resource for the inpatient care team. The APP has a strong foundation in evidence-based practice and education and is responsible for ensuring an environment of safe, quality care. The APP demonstrates advanced medical and nursing knowledge, clinical and technical competency, sound clinical judgment, professionalism as it relates to interpersonal and general communication skills and timely and compliant documentation. The APP also takes responsibility for ongoing professional development and competency validation. |
