Responsibilities

What we expect… (Essential Functions)
This position will manage, investigate, and assist with the resolution of liability and property insurance claims. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for reporting claims or incidents to third party administrators (TPA) and insurance companies.
  • Lead ongoing coordination with insurers, TPA, and/or defense counsel to ensure appropriate progress of claims administration and resolution.
  • Proactively collaborate with various departments to obtain information, updates relating to claims or incidents.
  • Independently draft, issue and manage tender or notice letters to insurance companies, TPA’s, brokers, or other third-parties.
  • Conduct comprehensive analysis and claim investigations to determine claims exposure, recommend appropriate settlement strategies, and strategic action plans.
  • Lead, coordinate and participate in claim reviews and/or audits with brokers, insurance companies, and company stakeholders.
  • Maintain detailed records, organized files and provide comprehensive updates to internal stakeholders.
  • Review, approve and process invoices.
  • Run monthly reports for internal stakeholders
Additional duties include, but are not limited to:
  • Assist with mid-term changes and annual renewal of Gray’s corporate insurance policies.
  • Assist with development and documentation of standard operating procedures.
  • Maintain knowledge of construction trends in the insurance industry.
  • Work with other members of the Risk Management team on special projects and initiatives.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university; minimum four (4) years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
The selected candidate must have advanced organizational and time management skills and have outstanding communication and interpersonal skills. A strong understanding of property and casualty insurance and claims as it relates to the construction industry, or a related field, is required. Must have strong business mathematical skills. Must possess advanced skills in analyzing and interpreting documents such as contracts and insurance policies. Additionally, the candidate must have the capability to work independently, think critically, resolve complex problems and adapt to a variety of complex scenarios.
