Job Summary
The Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) functions as a specialized behavioral health clinician within the inpatient setting of a children’s hospital, supporting compliance with Joint Commission standards related to individualized assessment, evidence-based treatment planning, staff competence, patient safety, and performance improvement.

The BCBA conducts comprehensive functional behavior assessments and develops, implements, and monitors individualized behavior intervention plans that emphasize trauma-informed, developmentally appropriate, and least-restrictive practices for pediatric patients with complex behavioral, developmental, and psychiatric needs. In collaboration with the multidisciplinary inpatient care team, the BCBA integrates behavioral interventions into the overall plan of care to reduce behavioral escalation and the use of restraint and seclusion.

This role includes training and supervision of BCBA trainees in accordance with BACB requirements and Joint Commission expectations for staff qualification and ongoing education, as well as providing education and consultation to inpatient staff, medical providers, and parents or caregivers to support consistent and safe care delivery. The BCBA participates in quality, safety, and performance improvement initiatives through data collection and outcome monitoring, with the goal of improving patient and staff safety, mitigating risk, and enhancing the quality and effectiveness of inpatient pediatric services.

The BCBA will be joining a vibrant pediatric hospital community that focuses on patient safety and teamwork. The BCBA will be supported by a collaborative environment that values psychological safety and patient-centered care.
