Qualifications
RS&H is currently seeking a Tolls Finance Consultant Associate to join our Transportation and Tolls Consulting team.
You will have the opportunity to apply your skills to serve local, state, and national Tolling/Transportation agencies. You'll serve an integral role in accounting and reporting for toll revenue by understanding system operations, documenting financial processes and internal controls, preparing basic reconciliations, understanding payment processing and settlement, and assisting and providing support for reporting and analyzing key metrics.
Responsibilities:
• Analyze existing business processes, workflows, and procedures to identify inefficiencies and improvement opportunities.
• Design and implement optimized processes that enhance productivity, operational efficiency, and customer satisfaction.
• Support continuous improvement efforts by staying current on industry trends, emerging technologies, and process improvement methodologies.
• Document financial transactions of various types by entering account information data into the General Ledger (GL), including ensuring transactions are recorded to the appropriate GL codes and accounting period.
• Prepare basic GL reconciliations and participates in the investigation of unaccounted-for differences, which may include examining bank statements and transactions from the underlying subledger and systems.
• Participate in the investigation of unaccounted for differences.
• Answer basic accounting related questions by applying generally accepted accounting principles and concepts and standard methodologies.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
• Have a bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Minimum of 3 years' relevant experience.
• Have a passion for accounting and be familiar with GAAP accounting rules, auditing, and tax and financial statements.
• Be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, with a strong knowledge of Excel.
• Possess basic analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as strong organizational, prioritization, and communications skills.
• Must thrive in a team environment with the ability to also be self-motivated and work independently.
• Have the ability to effectively interact with and build strong relationships with others.
• Strong knowledge of process mapping and process modeling techniques.
