So, do you want to join us? We are looking for a Sr Fleet Services Technician.

As a senior fleet services technician, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing and performing routine maintenance on various types of vehicles and equipment. Additionally, you will participate in fabrication projects providing guidance on design and material use. Every position has an important role in helping Noble achieve its goals and share the story of regenerative land stewardship with farmers, ranchers, potential donors, and society at large. The work you do can play a part in making a difference in a producer’s operation, their life and the society that depends on them.

The ideal candidate will:

  • Have experience diagnosing, repairing, and performing routine maintenance on passenger vehicles and light trucks.
  • Have experience using diagnostic equipment such as IDS or FDRS to diagnose and repair vehicles.
  • Have experience with fabrication for customer modifications to vehicles or equipment.
  • Have experience with Mig and Tig welding techniques.

You will be responsible for:

  • Guiding technicians
    • Assisting supervisor with determining and scheduling work for other technicians. Distributing work orders in the absence of supervisor.
    • Verifying work of technicians for accuracy, proper methods, techniques and compliance with applicable standards and specifications.
    • Ensuring adherence to safe work practices and procedures.

Safety Sensitive Responsibilities:

  • Diagnosing and repairing vehicles and equipment
    • Performing diagnostics and repairs, including master-level, on various types of Institute vehicles and equipment. This includes powertrain management, drivetrain, braking/anti-lock, suspension, steering, HVAC, hydraulic, electrical, etc.
    • Working with fleet service supervisor to assess the need for outside repair services.
    • Responding to off-campus locations for vehicle repairs and services.
  • Conducting preventive maintenance and fueling vehicles/equipment
    • Scheduling and performing basic preventative maintenance and repair on vehicles and equipment (oil, filter, lubrication, tire repair, etc.).
    • Keeping preventative maintenance and repair records up to date.
  • Operating and transporting equipment
    • Operating and transporting various types of construction and agricultural related equipment.
    • Reporting faulty equipment as necessary.
  • Driving vehicles for work-related tasks
    • Operating Institute and personal vehicles according to the Vehicle Use Policy and Fleet Safety Program.
    • Conducting pre-operational vehicle checks to ensure safety and functionality.
  • Leading custom metal fabrication and Fleet/ Equipment projects.
    • Serving as the subject matter expert and leading custom fabrication projects from conception to delivery.
    • Working with requestor on design and identification of the most cost-effective material to support research and operations efforts.
