ABOUT THE POSITION:
Reinvestment Fund seeks an inquisitive problem solver with strong data analysis skills to join our team as a Loan Servicing Specialist. This role is an essential part of the Lending Administration Department’s credit administration function providing borrowers, investors and staff accurate information about loan accounts and payments. This is an opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment as part of a small, close-knit team servicing roughly 500 social impact loans across the United States. 


RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Interact directly with internal and external customers to effectively communicate servicing activities and alerts. This includes initiating and receiving telephone calls, email in Microsoft Outlook, messages in Microsoft Teams.
  • Enter loan data and daily cash activity on the loan servicing system. 
  • Prepare and process payments for loan participants, loan-related fees and expenses. 
  • Initiate the transfer of funds in and out of Reinvestment Fund controlled accounts for loan disbursements and ACH loan payments.
  • Prepare and/or adjust monthly billing statements and amortization schedules as directed using templates. 
  • Review and reconcile accounts related to loan fees, interest reserves, unapplied funds, etc.
  • Review draft versions of proposed new notes, participation agreements and other legal contracts to check compliance with loan servicing standards. 
  • Translate information from legal documents and financial statements into data for entry into a loan servicing system.
  • Maintain the functionality of the loan servicing system. 
  • Review data entered in the loan servicing system against loan documents to confirm accuracy.
  • Create and maintain collateral records within the loan servicing system that accurately reflect the collateral held along with the documents that support that collateral.
  • Perform loan support functions as required, including the ongoing imaging and indexing of loan files and documents.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma and some coursework or training in accounting 
  • Minimum 3+ years relevant experience in a commercial real estate lending and servicing environment. 
  • Experience in commercial loan credit administration and servicing, including loan setup, servicing functions, system administration, and collateral maintenance.
  • Technical expertise in handling complex commercial loan repayment schedules.
  • Proficiency in loan servicing and accounting terminology (e.g., interest types, loan fees, journal entries, disbursements, participations, sales, and purchases).
  • Familiarity with industry practices and internal controls related to loan setup, payoff, collateral release, and activity reporting. Demonstrated affinity for systems and continued process improvement.
  • Proficiency with MS Office, especially Word and Excel, including the ability to create and modify formulas, understand data sets, format data for effective interpretation/presentation, and present quantitative information to business users.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects efficiently and effectively.
  • Attentiveness to numerical detail & ability to ensure calculations are accurate.
  • Familiarity with database concepts (data tables, data fields, archived data, data types, queries)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to effectively resolve challenges independently. 
  • Excellent interpersonal skills; cooperative and good-natured.
  • Committed to supporting Reinvestment Fund’s customers with the patience and extra assistance they may require from time to time.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with Microsoft Teams collaboration platform
  • Practical experience working with databases for loan reporting
  • Familiarity with the Jack Henry Suite of Lending Systems (Silverlake, Synergy, LoanVantage)
  • Prior experience reviewing construction loan disbursements


WORK LOCATION:

Reinvestment Fund provides a flexible hybrid home/office work arrangement. It is anticipated that a combination of working remote and 1-2 days/week in the Philadelphia, PA location will allow for face-to-face interactions.  


COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:

Reinvestment Fund offers a competitive salary based on experience and skills, as well as an excellent benefits package including employer-paid health, disability, and life insurance, 401(k) savings plan with employer match, flexible spending accounts (medical, dependent care and transportation), tuition reimbursement, paid time off, and EAP program.


The salary range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between $60,000 and $73,000/year, however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.


If hired, employee will be in an “at-will position” and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
