Job Description:
This dual-function role supports both the Soldier Readiness Processing (SRP) site and the ID Card Section of the Military District (MaD). The Personnel Assistant is responsible for a wide range of critical administrative tasks, including processing Certificates of Release or Discharge from Active Duty (DD214), processing the issuance of Common Access Cards (CAC), and maintaining records within the Defense Enrollment Eligibility Reporting System (DEERS) and Real-time Automated Personnel Identification System (RAPIDS).
This position demands a high level of professionalism, discretion, and a steadfast commitment to providing exceptional customer service to service members, their families, and the military community. Job Description:

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Transition Services:
- Performs final out-processing for separating service members, issuing Release from Active Duty (REFRAD) orders and explaining their use for transportation, travel allowances, and other entitlements.
- Serves as a designated Reviewer/Signer for DD Form 214s, ensuring absolute accuracy and completeness before the document is finalized.
- Counsels and advises soldiers on all actions and documentation required for a smooth separation process.
- ID Card & DEERS/RAPIDS Services:
- Performs all functions required to issue CACs, ID tags, Geneva Conventions cards, and other military identification.
- Manages the DEERS and RAPIDS systems, including enrolling and updating records for all eligible beneficiaries, reconciling erroneous information, performing PIN resets, and verifying PKI certificates.
- Conducts routine operator-level maintenance on RAPIDS workstations and printers to ensure continuous operation.
- General Administrative & Personnel Duties:
- Evaluates and consolidates information from various sources into multiple Army software systems, such as TRANSPROC, IPERMS, IPPS-A, and DAMPS.
- Responds to routine and complex questions regarding personnel policies, separation procedures, and ID card eligibility.
- Establishes, maintains, and revises required forms, records, and files, ensuring all materials are secured in accordance with Army regulations.
- Provides superior customer service, exercising discretion and tact in all interactions.
- Cross-trains other personnel on internal policies and Army operating systems.
- Complies with all OSHA, QC, and Safety Program requirements.
- Adheres to all company policies and procedures.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
- Essential:
- High school diploma/GED or equivalent.
- Working knowledge of Adjutant General (AG) functions of the U.S. Army and military rank structure.
- Proficient computer skills with experience using Microsoft Office and Microsoft TEAMS.
- Demonstrated knowledge of military personnel systems, including DEERS and RAPIDS.
- Familiarity with mobilization/demobilization operations (IAW FORSCOM Regulation 500-3-1 through 500-3-5).
- Ability to obtain and maintain a CAC and necessary network access.
- Must be able to pass DD Form 214 certification training upon hire.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment with a very high degree of attention to detail.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills for interacting effectively with military personnel and other offices.
- Preferred:
- A college degree and/or prior military background is a significant plus.

WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Location: This position is not eligible for remote work. All duties must be performed on-site at a federal installation.
- Hours: This is a full-time position operating during standard business hours, Monday through Friday. Shifts may vary (e.g., 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM or 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM). Flexibility is required, as hours, weekends, and holidays may be adjusted to meet mission requirements. Overtime may be required.
- Environment: The role is performed in a fast-paced office setting with extensive computer and telephone use.
- Physical Demands: Requires prolonged periods of sitting or standing. The role involves bending, stooping, and moving about the property. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and possess the visual acuity and manual dexterity to operate standard office equipment.
